Is your phone service not working
the way it should? Before you call we suggest a few tests to save
you time and money.
- Hang up all telephones. Make sure any
phone accessories - dialup modems, dsl modems, security systems,
cordless phones, answering or fax machines, or computers are
working. To check accessories, unplug the phone cord to the device
and check for signs of damage.
- Leave everything unplugged, wait
5 minutes, then plug each phone in one at a time and see
if the problem persists.
- If all phone accessories work, go to the
network interace box. This box is located
outside of the house where the phone line enters the house.
- Take
a working single line phone to the network interface box.Remove
the modular plug from the test jack and plug in your phone.
- If
the same problem occurs, the problem could be in the phone
line. Call our Dispatchers at 356-6024.
- If the problem does not occur, the
problem is in your house wiring. Ideaone Telecom offers a
Wire Maintenance Plan that can be purchased to diagnose and
repair your inside wiring issues.
- Before you call. Please have the following
information ready for the technician
- Account Holder name and number of line with problem
- Your
name and callback number.
- If it is a long distance issue, please
include the number you are dialing to and from.
- If there has
been a power outage, please let the technician know.
- When did you first notice the problem started.
The more information the technician has, the more efficient he/she
will be in diagnosing and resolving the problem.
