• IdeaOne has installed a predominantly fiber optic network throughout the cities of Fargo and West Fargo. When combined with the latest in switching and electronic communications technology, the network is capable of providing basic and advanced voice services, high speed data and Internet services, and digital video services.
• The high-speed data technology connects to your home or office computer through a 10-megabit per second Ethernet interface. This eliminates the need for dialing and allows for simultaneous Internet access and telephone services over a single line.
• While the network is capable of providing the latest in digital video services, we are concentrating on voice and data services initially, but will continue to evaluate our video options.

Q: When will I be able to get service at my home/business?

• Voice services are available to any resident or business in the Fargo and West Fargo area. Data services are available to specific locations within Fargo and West Fargo. To determine the status of your location, go to our updated map.

Q: Will I have to change my telephone number?

• Not if you don't want to. We do offer IdeaOne customers the ability to pick the last four digits of your phone number, based on availability. IdeaOne's West Fargo prefix is 356 and the Fargo prefix is 364. In addition, we will work with the current local service provider to put a referral message on your old number that gives out your new number at no extra charge. However, you are welcome to keep your current number (subject to an additional charge).
