Why do I hear feedback or echo on my phone?
If you're getting feedback (an echo or "squelch") whenever you talk on your phone, try turning down the volume. In some cases, your microphone can hear your earpiece (this is especially true for hands-free car kits). Adjusting your volume to a lower setting should help.
Why does my phone keep shutting off?
When your phone unexpectedly shuts off, it normally indicates that your battery is discharged. Check the battery life on your phone; if it is low, charge your phone.
Can I use an existing phone with Verizon Wireless service?
We can activate your existing phone provided it is compatible with our CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) digital network.
Although a wireless phone may be compatible with our network, we cannot guarantee the equipment's performance nor can we honor the manufacturer's warranty on wireless phones not purchased through Verizon Wireless or its authorized agents.
How long will my battery last?
Battery times vary based upon personal use and system transition. Please consult your phone guide for more information.

All of this is available in just a few clicks on your mobile phone.
I’m being told to update my Email and Web for Smartphone, what do I do now?
Whenever a new version of Email and Web for Smartphone is released, you are prompted to update your Email. This may enhance existing features, introduce new features, or add new email services. If your phone loses connection while updating, simply start Email and Web for Smartphone again when you have signal; if the update had not been complete, it will ask you again. The application will exit to download the updates. When it’s done, go to Get It Now to start Email and Web for Smartphone again.
I want to configure Wireless Sync - what is the difference between the PC Monitor and POP3 / IMAP Wireless Sync configurations?
A description of when to use each follows.
Individual PC Monitor: Select this option if you are interested in configuring Wireless Sync to monitor a single Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino account. PC Monitor is for use with Exchange or Domino only and should not be selected if you are attempting to retrieve POP3 or IMAP email.
Workgroup PC Monitor: Select this option if you are interested in configuring Wireless Sync to monitor multiple (up to 20) Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino accounts. Not for POP3 or IMAP email.
POP3 / IMAP Connection: Select this option if you are interested in configuring Wireless Sync to retrieve email (POP3 or IMAP) directly from a POP3 / IMAP server. If you have configured another email client to also retrieve messages from the target POP3 / IMAP account, ensure that it is set to leave messages on the server after being downloaded.
How do I maximize battery Power?
- Avoid exposing the battery to extreme heat and cold.
- For the first 3 charge cycles, fully charge the battery overnight and allow it to fully discharge before recharging (battery conditioning).
- Charge and re-condition a battery after an extended idle period.
- A Lithium-ion battery may be damaged by extensive overcharging (continuously on a charger for more than 24 hours).
- Keep your phone, batteries, and the contact terminals clean. The contacts can easily be cleaned with a pencil eraser.
- Use the battery. If possible, avoid letting your battery sit idle for long periods of time.
- Use only the phone options and accessories that you really need.
